Translating the Vision
Chole envisioned a "toi et moi" ring, a style that beautifully symbolizes the union of two souls. He loved how the two stones represent himself and his partner, two distinct individuals coming together in love. For his partner's stone, he chose an emerald cut, his favorite, a new stone to represent this new chapter in their love story.
With a clear vision in mind, Chole sought out Steven at Harnik Brothers Jewelers. He presented him with his reference image – a toi et moi design featuring an emerald cut paired with a round brilliant diamond – and shared his ideas and budget.
Chole was immediately impressed with Steven's ability to translate his vision while respecting his budget. He suggested a lab-grown diamond for the emerald cut, a choice Chole embraced for its ethical and sustainable advantages, as well as its beauty and value.
The Making of a Custom Ring
For Chole and the love of his life, this year marks a double celebration: their 10th anniversary of being together and their 5th wedding anniversary. To commemorate these milestones, Chole's partner wanted to gift him a new wedding ring, a ring that truly captured their dreams together.
Chole, an immigrant from Canada with a mother who immigrated from the Philippines, carried with him a cherished symbol of his heritage: a 1-carat round brilliant diamond ring given to him by his mother. This ring represents his mother's journey and his own journey to a new home in the United States. It was important to Chole that this diamond, imbued with so much meaning, be incorporated into his new design.
